The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE) invites public comment on the addition of Information
Requirements to allow for Alternative Meal Distribution pursuant to updated Code of Federal
Regulations (CFR) within the Older Americans Act.
Citations authorizing this amendment include:
- CFR: §1321.87(a)(1)(i) allows providers to provide congregate meals (or Title III C-1) via
the following alternative meal options: self-stable, pick-up, carry-out, drive-through, or
similar. - CFR: §1321.87(a)(1)(ii) states that meals provided through these alternative modes are
NOT to exceed 25% of Title III C-1 funds by the State or area agency after all transfers
are complete. - CFR: §1321.87(a)(2) allows home delivered meals to be delivered via home delivery,
pick-up, carry-out, drive-through, or similar mode. - CFR: § 1321.27 (j) allows the state agency to utilize Title III, part C-1 funds for
Alternative Meal Distribution.
