Judith “Judy” E. Briner, age 85, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at her home.
She was born in Portland, Indiana, on September 8, 1940, to the late Donald and Margaret (Teagan) Stump.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her first husband, Max Edward Trobridge, whom she married on September 5. 1959 and who passed in 1982; her daughter-in-law, Martha Trobridge; and her great granddaughter, Kalla Kaffenberger.
Judy is survived by her husband, Robert Briner of Fort Recovery, whom she married on January 16, 1988; her children, Scott Trobridge of Union City, Indiana, Chris (Gina) Trobridge of Union City, Ohio, Cindy (Billy) Emrick of Union City, Indiana, Todd (Ruth) Trobridge of Gettysburg, Ohio, and Donnie Trobridge of Fort Recovery; and 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
With her marriage to Bob, Judy added several more kids to her family, both stepchildren and of the 4-legged variety. Judy’s love for animals grew as she became active in showing goats at various county fairs and encouraging family members to participate in 4-H. Cats were always her favorite animal and held a special place in her heart. Judy also enjoyed collecting dolls. She and Bob attended Word of Life Church in rural Union City, Ohio.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, with Pastor George Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Salamonia Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Judy’s family on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
