On January 12, 2026 at approximately 7:12 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with Pitsburg Fire Department and Arcanum Rescue and CareFlight, responded to the intersection of State Route 49 and Red River-West Grove Road for a two-vehicle injury crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed a red Hyundai Sonata driven by Allyson Waymire 18, of Englewood was traveling northwest on State Route 49 when she collided with a black Lexus driven by Christopher Wilkins 44, of Laura who was stopped at the stop sign and then pulled out into the intersection.
Waymire was transported to Miami Valley Hospital aboard CareFlight and Wilkins was uninjured in the crash.
