Vehicle Theft
On January 8th, 2026, at approximately 2327 hours I was dispatched to 120 Montgomery St. reference a stolen vehicle.
Upon my arrival I spoke with Jackson Abrams who advised that he believed that his vehicle, a 2004 White Chevy Trailblazer (KNR3950), was stolen off the street from in front of his residence at the above listed residence. Jackson filled out a witness statement and advised that he last saw the vehicle at approximately 1530 hours. Jackson also advised that earlier in the day a construction worker who was working nearby had asked Jackson to move his vehicle as it was blocking an alley way where the construction crew was working. Jackson stated that he would not move the car as it was parked legally and that the vehicle had broken down. As Jackson was walking away he stated that he heard the construction worker say, “better not be surprised if it’s not there when I (Jackson) get back.” Jackson provided a description of the vehicle as well as pictures of the listed vehicle and it was entered into leads as stolen. The employer of the construction crew was contacted and advised that he would check with his crew to see if any of them had moved the vehicle or had it towed away. Jackson filled out a victim’s rights form, given a report number was and advised to contact the Greenville Police department for any updates.
On January 9th, 2026, at approximately 0053 hours, Grant Davidson contacted the Greenville Police Department and advised that he and his boyfriend, Jackson, had located the vehicle parked at 422 East 5th St. approximately 3 blocks from where Jackson had stated that it was parked. Sgt Alan Smith went to 422 East 5th St. and confirmed that vehicle had been found and that there was a camera pointing at the location where the vehicle was located. At approximately 1645 hours I received an email from Jackson stating that “I would not like to pursue any further action at this time, as the vehicle has no new damage or any missing items.” I called Jackson and confirmed that he no longer wanted any charges to which he again said he did not want any charges.
Later in the evening at approximately 2326 hours I received a phone call from Grant regarding this incident. Grant advised that he had discovered that the listed vehicle was in fact never stolen and that his boyfriend, Jackson, had parked the vehicle at 422 East 5th St. and left in there. Grant advised that Jackson said, ” I was trying to pull a prank on you but you jumped the gun and called the cops”. Grant advised that he was upset by this and had a guilty conscious and wanted to inform me of the situation. I asked Grant if he knew why Jackson would do this, which he said he didn’t know. Grant also informed me that Jackson had left Greenville and returned to Middletown Ohio. I asked Grant if he would be willing to fill out a witness statement form regarding the incident which he agreed to.
A copy of his statement will be attached to this report. Please see attached files for further.
On January 10th, 2026, at approximately 0047 hours, I contacted Jackson regarding this incident. I advised Jackson of the information that Grant had given me and asked Jackson whether or not the vehicle was stolen or if Jackson was the one who had parked the car at 442 East 5th St. Jackson advised that the information that he provided to me on his witness statement form was not true and that he was attempting to test Grant to see how Grant would react. Jackson advised that he felt that Grant was taking control of everything in his life and that it was the reason that Jackson no longer wanted to pursue any charges. I confirmed with Jackson that the car was never stolen to which he agreed.
I informed Jackson that he would be charged with Making False Alarms 2917.32 ( A)( 3) and that he would need to come to the Greenville Police Department to collect his citation. Jackson advised that he is not sure when he would be able to return to Greenville to collect his citation. I advised Jackson that he needed to return to Greenville to receive his citation or that I would be requesting a warrant for his arrest. He said that he may be able to pick up his citation before January 13th, 2026.
On January 10th, 2026, at approximately 1723 hours I made contact with Jackson at 120 Montgomery St. Greenville OH. Jackson was served his copy of the citation and advised of his mandatory court date and time.
Wanted Person
On January 15, 2026, at approximately 1146 hours I apprehended a known wanted person.
While patrolling in the City of Greenville in my patrol cruiser I observed a white chevy vehicle with Ohio registration KPF3529 traveling West on East Main Street. I conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for a brake light violation. The driver was identified as the registered owner, Chet Davis. The front seat passenger identified as Timothy Davis and gave his date of birth.
I was advised by dispatch who checked Timothy through LEADS/NCIC that Timothy had an active warrant through Darke County Sheriff’s Office for a failure to appear for a traffic offense and had a bond of $275. Timothy was then advised of this. Timothy stepped out of the car and was placed into two sets of handcuffs that were gap checked and double locked. Timothy was searched incident to arrest where no contraband was located. Timothy did have a small amount of cash on him which he allowed Chet to keep. Timothy was then placed into the backseat of my cruiser. Timothy also confirmed his social security number. Dispatched confirmed the warrant with the Darke County Sheriff’s office.
Timothy was transported to the Darke County Jail and released to jail staff. The backseat of my cruiser was checked prior and after transport with nothing being located
