Big Brothers Big Sisters is proud to welcome Rorie Stump as the new Mentoring Specialist serving Shelby County. In this role, Rorie will support volunteer mentors and youth through high-quality, relationship-based mentoring that helps young people achieve their full potential.
Stump is a graduate of Indiana University East, where she earned a degree in Accounting and Business Administration with a minor in Financial Investigation, graduating in the top 10% of her class. While in college, she worked on collaborative projects with the City of Richmond, including analyzing municipal budgets and developing improvement strategies.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Rorie has hands-on experience working with youth through her work as a substitute teacher across multiple school districts. These experiences helped solidify her passion for serving children and supporting their growth both inside and outside of the classroom.
Rorie has also been deeply involved in 4-H since childhood, participating in goat projects that helped build responsibility and leadership skills at an early age. She currently serves as President of the Darke County Goat Committee, where she provides leadership, mentorship, and organizational support to youth and families involved in agricultural programming.
“As a Mentoring Specialist, Rorie will help guide and support matches, ensuring that mentoring relationships are safe, impactful, and built to last,” said April Brubaker, Executive Director. “Her commitment to service, education, and community leadership makes her a valuable addition to the Big Brothers Big Sisters team and to the families and volunteers of Shelby County.”
“I want to build a career helping children succeed,” Rorie shared. “Being organized, dependable, and solution-focused allows me to support mentors and Littles in meaningful ways.”
