Myrtle Marie (Lindemuth) McKnight, age 98 of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 25, 2026, at Rest Haven. She was born at home on November 18. 1927 in Darke County, Ohio. She was the daughter of John and Bessie (Arnett) Lindemuth. Myrtle was an active member of her garden club and loved playing cards at the VFW; however, nothing compared to her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Robert (Bob) F. McKnight, passed in 2012; they had been married for 65 years. They retired in 2000 after 50 years of working side-by-side farming and raising livestock.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Mark) Hierholzer, Ansonia, Ohio, daughter-in-law, Nancy McKnightm Greenville, Ohio, grandchildren, Molly Hierholzer, Celina, Ohio, Creighton Hierholzer, Winter Springs, Florida, Jeremie (Lori) McKnight, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ashley (Ryan) Rose, North Port, Florida, Adalynne (Reid Sutton) Hierholzer, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Kaela (Luke) Laxton, Salisbury, North Carolina, great-grandchildren, Solomon (Annabel) Hierholzer, Pendelton, Indiana, Thaddeus Hierholzer, Miles City, Montana, Ava Rose, North Port, Florida, Martha Jutte, Celina, Ohio, and Runa McKnight, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Myrtle is preceded in passing by sons, Gail F. McKnight and Robert Kim McKnight.
Visitation will be held at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio on Friday March 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
