
The Area Agency on Aging hosts an online continuing education workshop, Addiction through the Lens of an Older Adults: Risk Factors, Your Role & Resources, 9am-12:15pm on Tuesday, March 31, offering 3 credit hours for social workers and registered nurses. Cost is $40 for 3.0 CEUs or $20 if no CEUs are needed. Participants will explore unique challenges faced by older adults and various factors contributing to addiction. By understanding signs, symptoms, and treatment options available, participants will be better equipped to support older adults struggling with addiction and help them maintain a healthy and fulfilling life.
Presenters are:
- Dr. Marketa Robinson, Ph.D, M.Ed., Executive Director of the Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program (UMADAOP of Dayton), and certified as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant.
- Michael Mann, Senior Coordinator for UMADAOP of Dayton, and an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant.
This workshop offers 3.0 clock hours for social workers, #RSX089101. The Ohio Board of Nursing accepts events approved for counselors and social workers for continuing nursing education.
