July 12, 1972 — March 6, 2026
Stacey Lee Wasson-Johnson, age 53, of Union City, IN, passed away on March 6, 2026.
Stacey was born on July 12, 1972, in Greenville, the daughter of Devon and Renee Wasson. She graduated from Union City High School in 1991.
She is survived by her siblings: Melissa Blankley (Lee Addington), Michael Wasson (Teresa Wasson), and Kristy Mosier. She also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her deeply.
Throughout her life, Stacey held several roles that reflected both her leadership and her heart for helping others. She worked in sales and management with Verizon, where she operated her own store. She later served in Human Resources at Rock House, worked as a Special Needs House Manager, became a Recovery Coach, and most recently served as Director at Jay County Country Living. No matter the title she held, Stacey was always drawn toward work that allowed her to care for and uplift others.
Stacey was a true creative spirit. She loved cooking and experimenting with new recipes, often exploring international cuisine. Her creativity also led her to start a small baking business where she made personalized cakes and cookies for friends and family. She enjoyed art in many forms and dabbled in different mediums.
Stacey was beautiful both inside and out. She had a smile that made you smile back. She always took pride in her appearance, loved fun clothing in unique color combinations, and was never afraid to add a little bit of leopard to her style. Her hair and makeup were always just right, and her vibrant personality shined just as brightly.
She had a deep love for animals, especially those that others might overlook. Over the years she cared for many pets that needed a second chance, including cockatoos, a pit bull, and several beloved mixed-breed dogs from the pound.
More than anything, Stacey had a meaningful walk with God. She accepted Christ as her Savior in her teenage years and carried that faith with her throughout her life. She understood deeply that she was a sinner in need of a Savior and tried to live her life in a way that reflected Christ’s love.
Because of her love for Jesus, many of Stacey’s vocations led her toward serving others. As her father once said, “She loved the least of these.” She explored home management, worked as a recovery coach for those struggling with addiction, and even opened her home to help a close friend who was in need. Her life reflected a heart that was always ready to help someone who needed compassion, encouragement, or a fresh start.
Stacey will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, including her latest companion, her sweet dog Tink, who still waits by the door for her to come home.
Though her time here feels far too short, Stacey’s kindness, creativity, laughter, and faith left a lasting mark on the lives of many. Those who knew her take comfort in the peace of knowing that her life, and even her passing, rests in God’s perfect plan. While her presence on earth will be deeply missed, there is great hope in knowing that Stacey now rests safely in Heaven with the Savior she loved and served.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery, Union City.
