Wanted Person
On March 8th, 2026, I was on routine patrol in the 300 block of West Water Street in the city of Greenville when I observed who I know as Rodney Wert in the 300 block.
I ran Rodney through LEADS/NCIC and found he had an active warrant through Athens County Sheriff’s Office for Violation of a court Order, no bond.
I made contact with Rodney and advised him of his warrant and detained him in handcuffs which were double locked and gap checked.
Rodney’s warrant was confirmed by GPD Dispatch and I transported Rodney to the Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated for his warrant.
The back seat of my police cruiser was checked prior to and after transport and no contraband was located.
Parking Problem
On November 13th, 2025, at approximately 1740 hours I was dispatched to 1200 Blk of Greenmore Drive reference a parking complaint.
Upon my arrival I observed a Gray 2005 Chrysler bearing the Ohio registration JGT9890. I ran the registration through LEADS/NCIC and determined that the vehicles registration was expired. I attempted to contact the registered owner and discovered that the registered owner was deceased as of 06/30/2024. I canvased the area in an attempt to find the current owner of the vehicle but was unable to determine who the current owner was. Additionally, nearby neighbors were unable to give me any information as to who the vehicle belonged to or how it came to be parked at in the 1200 Blk of Greenmore Drive. I marked and tagged the vehicle in accordance with Greenville Police Department Policy.
I continued to investigate who the vehicle belonged and was unable to get any further information on next of kin or the current owner.
On March 3rd, 2026, the vehicle had still not moved from the original spot where it was marked and tagged. The vehicle was towed by Hot Rods towing at the request of Lt. Monnin.
The vehicle will remain in the custody of Hot Rods until the owner comes forward.
