COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be joining forces with other members of the 6-State Trooper Project for speed, safety belt and OVI enforcement on Interstate 70.
The initiative will begin on Friday, October 4 at midnight. and will continue through Sunday, October 6 at 11:59 p.m. The campaign will include the Indiana State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The enforcement initiative is an effort to reduce unsafe driving behaviors along the Interstate 70 corridor.
In Ohio, during last year’s same 6-State initiative, troopers issued 388 citations for speed, 31 for safety belt violations and made five OVI arrests.
Other members of the 6-State Trooper Project include the Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police and West Virginia State Police.
