The Darke County Animal Shelter would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Stewart Family on the loss of their beloved dog, Chevy Clauson.
Known lovingly as “The Most Famous Pup in the Pits,” Chevy was a cherished presence at Eldora Speedway for 12 incredible years. Always by her family’s side at the merchandise trailer, Chevy greeted race fans with warmth and joy, quickly becoming a fan favorite.
In Chevy’s memory, the Stewart Family created and sold stickers featuring her picture. With the incredible support of Eldora Speedway fans, they raised funds to purchase over $300 worth of food, treats, bones, and cleaning supplies all generously donated to help the dogs in our care.
We are incredibly grateful to the Stewart Family and to all the race fans whose kindness and support made this heartfelt tribute possible. Your generosity honors Chevy’s legacy in the most beautiful way and will make a lasting difference for the dogs at our shelter.
