The Anna Bier Art Gallery is delighted to host a Basket Weaving Workshop on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the inside St. Clair Memorial Hall, located at 215 West 4th Street, Greenville, Ohio. This hands-on class is open to beginners and experienced crafters alike, and participants will be guided through the step-by-step process of weaving a small basket using traditional materials. All supplies, including rattan, reed, and weaving tools, will be provided, and attendees will leave with a unique handcrafted basket of their own making.
The workshop will be led by master weaver Jayne Smith, an experienced instructor from Van Wert. Known for her clear teaching style and passion for traditional crafts, Jayne will help participants explore weaving techniques, select color accents, and discover creative possibilities. Whether you’re new to basket weaving or just want to refresh your skills, this class offers a relaxed and supportive learning environment.
The registration fee is $40 per person, which covers all materials and instruction. Because space is limited, early registration is encouraged. Interested individuals may register online at darkecountyarts.org/annabiergallery or contact Jennifer Overholser at 440-813-0367 or visualarts@darkecountyarts.org.
This event is part of Darke County Center for the Arts’ (DCCA) ongoing efforts to promote visual arts and provide accessible arts programming to the community.
The Anna Bier Art Gallery is located on the second floor of St. Clair Memorial Hall behind the ticket box office. Participants should use the handicap entrance located on the side of the building.
