Gerald A. Price

October 9, 1932 – October 19, 2022

Gerald A. Price 90, of Union City, OH passed away Wednesday October 19, 2022, at The Village Green Nursing Facility in Greenville, OH. He was born in Rogersville, TN on October 9, 1932, to the late Charlie and Mattie (Taylor) Price.  He married Wretha (Rhoades) Price on August 16, 1952, and she preceded him in death.

Gerald farmed vegetables and grain.  He was a schoolteacher for many years where he taught Science at Ft. Recovery, Coldwater, and Mississinawa Valley.  He worked as a sales manager for World Book Encyclopedia before his retirement in 1993.  Gerald enjoyed time with his grandchildren, traveling, gardening, growing flowers, fishing, and spending winters in Florida since 1994.  He was a former member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon, trustee, and treasurer.  He also attended Community EUM.

He leaves to cherish his memory three children: J. Ken Price of Indianapolis, IN, Mark T. (Debbie) Price of Union City, OH, and Gwen (Cecil) Mays of Dayton, OH.  Grandchildren; Casey M. (Derrick) Deininger of Bluffton, IN, Steven A. (Janene) Price of Greenville, OH, Gabriel Lochtefeld of PA, Rachel (Mario) Cartolano of Kettering, OH, Michael Lochtefeld of Columbus, OH, Joelle Lochtefeld of Vandalia, OH, Aleah Price of Clarksville, IN, Dominique McGhehey of Jeffersonville, IN, Eric Harrison of Indianapolis, IN, and Chad Harrison of Indianapolis, IN. Great grandchildren; Austin Price, Gauge Price, Jani’ce Price, Dakota Price, Rowan Lochtefeld, Grayson Hefflinger, Arlo Hefflinger, and Luca Cartolano. Brother; Charles Price, and sister; Brenda Parker.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Wretha, brother Kenny, and sisters Barbara and Marjorie.

Visitation will take place Thursday October 27, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, IN 47390. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm.  Burial to take place at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
