Wallace Martin Rich, Jr.

Wallace Martin Rich, Jr., 87, of Union City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at his home.

He was born on August 6, 1935, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Wallace Sr. and Dorothy (Fashner) Rich.

Wallace is survived by his children, Deborah Diller of Greenville, Barbara Rich of Greenville, David (Sharon Taylor) Rich of Greenville, James Rich of Union City, and Teresa Worley of Greenville; his grandchildren, Michael Williams, Douglas Williams, Randy (Mindy) Ward, Chris Worley, Melinda (Steve) Blankenship, Mandy (Tina) Jackson, Corey Bailey, Justin Brown, and David Rich, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Jade, Gavin, Sydney, Austin and fiance A,Tyah, Zachary, Jozzlin, Leiha, Kolton, Kira, Zara, Dylan, Tagen, Shane, Carter, Alyssa, and Ayden; his great-great grandchildren, Oakley, Roland, Watson, and Baby Ward; his siblings, Walter (Helen) Rich, William (Sandra) Rich, Evelyn Goff, Roy (Kim) Dohme, and Sharon Lingle, all of Greenville; and his ex son-in-law, John Worley, Jr. of Greenville.

In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda (Stone) Rich, whom he married on June 1, 1957; his siblings, Eileen Setser, Leona Wolford, and Donna Meade.

Wallace served his country and community honorably throughout his life. in 1954, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Korean War era until he was discharged in January of 1957. Wallace went on to serve his communities as a police officer for the Village of Versailles and Arcanum. He was then appointed as the Chief of Police for the Village of Arcanum for many years.

Wallace enjoyed woodworking, doing artworks on canvas, sculpturing, playing guitar, and going to rodeos. He and his wife, Brenda were long time members of the Bradford Church of the Nazarene, where Wallace spent 40 years teaching Sunday School.

A celebration of Wallace’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Louis Reindel celebrating. Entombment, with full military honors, will follow at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Guests may visit with Wallace’s family on Monday from 9:30 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tribute Funeral Homes to help off set final expenses.
