APRIL 6, 1933 – NOVEMBER 1, 2022
Marlyn Ruth Forshee, our loving mother and friend, Marlyn Ruth Forshee, age 89, left this earth to find her place in Heaven on November 1, 2022.
Marlyn was born at home in Chickasaw, OH on April 6, 1933, the seventh child of Richard and Katherine “Ruth” Klosterman. She married Robert B. Koger in 1952 with whom she had five children. She later married George D. Forshee with whom she enjoyed many happy years. Marlyn started working as a telephone operator for the Greenville, OH telephone company at age 16. She worked there as an operator until her retirement.
Marlyn was a social butterfly who loved to meet and talk with everyone. She loved entertaining family and friends. She was passionate about gardening and showing off her beautiful flower gardens. She loved to dance, travel, golf, play euchre, bowl, play bingo, attend activities at her local senior center and church, and decorate for all the holidays.
Marlyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Sharon Arnett; her parents; both husbands; her siblings: Clyde (Margaret) Klosterman, Virgil Klosterman, Virginia (George) Henderson, Norman (Dorothy) Klosterman, Thomas (Ida) Klosterman, Joan Pence, Jerry Klosterman, and Robert Klosterman; son-in-law, Major Smith; and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marlyn is survived by her brother, Donald Klosterman; in-laws: Kenneth Pence, Marcella Downey, Mary Whittington, and Lowell (Mary Ann) Koger; her children, Sandra Hunt, Denise Smith, Byron (Fern) Koger, Connie (Larry) Lichtenberg; and son-in-law, Randy Arnett; her 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and other in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend much gratitude to Dr. Kalra and the nurses and staff at Asera Care Hospice.
Per Marlyn’s request a private service for the family will be held at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, OH with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
