On January 3rd, 2023, Christopher Silcott (49) of Greenville, contacted who he believed to be a 15 year old girl on social media. The account Silcott contacted is a covert account monitored by the Greenville Police Department.
During the course of the conversation, Silcott made arrangements to meet with who he believed to be the 15 year old girl in order to engage in sexual activity with her. Silcott traveled to the meeting location and was apprehended by officers from the Greenville Police Department. Silcott was incarcerated in the Darke County Jail and charged with importuning, a felony 5th degree.
The Greenville Police Department takes these types of crimes seriously and will continue to monitor this type of activity on social media
