JANUARY 27, 1941 – FEBRUARY 2, 2023
Judy Ann (Burris) Burns, 82 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday February 2, 2023 at 5:20 PM at Oakley Place, Greenville, Ohio. Judy was born January 27, 1941 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Heckman) Burris.
Judy was self-employed working for 17 years in their greenhouse and 15 years in the butcher shop. She was a member of the Wildflower Garden Club, the West Central Gourd Club, the American Gourd Club, and the Ohio Gourd Club; she loved flowers, gardening, and raising gourds. She was a very lovable and caring person.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne E. Burns on September 18, 2019 whom she married on August 14, 1959; her brothers, Thurman and Kenneth Burris; and her sisters, Sharon Hittle and Marcella Wright.
Judy is survived by her children and spouses, Tina and Mike Stump of Greenville, George Elliot and Casey Illig of New Albany, Ohio, and Jerrod Martin Burns and Connie Mason of West Chester, Ohio; her grandchildren, Mason, Timothy, and Thomas (Lindaann), her sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Emerson Petering of Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday February 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Fred Bernhard officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday February 9, 2023 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Park District or the Cancer Association of Darke County.
