Steven Brian Reser

January 20, 1941  –  February 18, 2023

Steven Brian Reser, 82, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully, after an extended illness, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Ayden Healthcare in Greenville.

He was born on January 20, 1941, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Harold and Helen (Drabenstot) Reser.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his first wife, Sheridan Ann (Jenkinson) Reser, who passed away in 1964; his second wife, Virginia (Fitzgerald) Reser, who passed away in 1981; and his brother-in-law, Richard Moyer.

Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Sue (Moyer) Reser, whom he married on November 22, 1982; his son, Tim (Kimberly) Reser of Greenville; his stepson, Brian (Wendy) Moyer of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Kyle Reser, Nathan Reser, Stephen Reser, Andrew Moyer, Brendan Moyer, and Alexa Moyer; his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Elias; his sister, Barbara (Tom) Clevenger of Union City, Ohio; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Ned) Gray and Jane (Jim) Urlage, all of Arcanum, and Linda Moyer of Lilburn, Georgia; his special friend, Janie Stover of New Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve worked for the Union City Body Company for 37 years, and was known to many as “Yogi Bear”. He was a member of the UAW and was the Union’s safety representative. After his retirement, he began working for Stryver Manufacturing in Trotwood for another 10 years. Steve was a skilled handyman and woodworker. He owned and operated Gordon’s Furniture Doctor and Odds N’ Ends Handyman Service for many years. Aside from woodworking, Steve also enjoyed going to tractor shows and playing dart ball. Steve was a longtime member of the Gordon United Methodist Church.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Ithaca Cemetery.

Guests may visit with Steve’s family on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
