The Darke County Animal Shelter has 4 new dogs available for adoption.
They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.
The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday 9am-11:30 am. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645.
Athena came to us as an owner surrender. We were told that Athena is a 1-year-old, female Golden Retriever mix. Athena’s owner told us that she is good with kids of all ages, dogs, and housebroken. Athena is not a fan of Chickens. Athena is a shy girl that just need some time to warm up to you, but she is super sweet. Athena walks well on a leash. Athena doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Athena weighs in at 35.5 lbs. and she did well for her bath and her examLayla came to us as an owner surrender. We are told Layla is a 6-year-old spayed female Lab/ Weimaraner Mix. Layla’s owner told us that she has been around older kids and loved them, has never been around cats, housebroken and crate trained. Layla loves to play with toys, to lay on the couch and take car rides. Layla has shown us she knows how to sit, lay down, loves for you to give her belly rubs and treats! Layla doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter and she is learning how to walk on a leash. Layla did great for her bath, and exam where she weighs in at 52.6 lbs.Nova came to us as an owner surrender, due to no fault of her own, unfortunately her owner had a job change and didn’t have the time for her. We are told Nova is a 3-year-old spayed female Great Dane Mix. Nova’s owner told us she is great with kids, cats, dogs, housebroken, and crate trained. Nova will go to the door when she wants to go outside. Nova’s owner describes her personality as docile and very clam girl. Nova loves to sleep in bed and go on car rides. Nova has shown us she knows how to sit, shake, lay down, loves attention and treats! Nova doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter and she walks well on a leash. Nova did great for her bath and exam where she weighs in at 90.8 lbs.Ace came to us as an owner surrender. We were told that Ace is a 1-year-old, intact, male Golden Retriever mix. Ace’s owner told us that Ace is good with kids all ages, dogs, and housebroken. Ace is not a fan of Chickens. Ace has shown us that he knows sit, love treats. and walks well on a leash. Ace doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Ace weighs in at 51.4 lbs. and he did well for his bath and his exam
