Sandra Kay Bowman

June 8, 1943  –  May 6, 2023

Sandra K. “Sandy” Bowman, 79, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 8, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Dave and Nellie (Shields) Warner.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Bowman; and her daughter, Faye Heitkamp; her daughter-in-law, Loretta Bowman; five brothers and four sisters.

Sandy was a Darke County gem. In 1979, she, along with her husband Gary, founded Bowman’s Texas Tenderloins. She enjoyed traveling to all the fairs and events, building lasting friendships with all the other concessionaires. She was selfless and caring, always thinking of the needs of others. She was a rock and foundation of her family. She loved to spend time spoiling her grandchildren. She loved her dog Murphy more than anything. He was her companion and snuggle buddy for the past 13 years.

She enjoyed watching game shows and keeping up with her favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless. Sandy was a woman of faith and loved going to church. She loved shopping but hated spending money. And everyone knew, if she wasn’t at home, check Walmart.

Sandy is survived by her children, Wayne Bowman, Craig (Beth Waddle) Bowman, and Carolyn Bowman, all of Greenville; her grandchildren, Megan (Ben) Stull of Greenville, Nathan (Kendra) Hill of Oahu, Hawaii, Aaron (Madisyn Pieper) Bruss of Piqua, Ohio, Krista Rehmert of Florida, Josh Hietkamp and Noah Hietkamp, both of Maria Stein, Ohio. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren, Benson and Harrison Stull, Xander and Owen Edger, Charlieann and Ella Trout, Aspen Cunningham, plus one more on the way; her brother, Jerry (JoAnn) Warner of Centerville, Ohio, and her sister-in-law, Sue Swank-Ripple of Greenville; and countless other nieces, nephews and extended family.
