Greenville, OH — The Light Foundation is thrilled to announce the return of its 5th annual Winter Wonderland at Chenoweth Trails, a magical three-night community holiday celebration taking place December 5th, 6th, and 7th in Greenville, Ohio. Gates open from 6:00–10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 6:00–9:00 PM on Sunday.
Each year, the Winter Wonderland event transforms the Foundation’s 500-acre outdoor education and leadership campus into a spectacular world of lights, seasonal joy, and family-friendly holiday fun. Guests can stroll through thousands of dazzling lights, festive displays, and themed walk-through scenes that highlight the beauty of Chenoweth Trails and the spirit of the season.
“Winter Wonderland is one of our favorite ways to bring the community together,” said Troy Eden, Chief Operating Officer of the Light Foundation. “Each year we work to elevate the experience, and we’re proud to host an event that not only celebrates the holidays but also supports youth leadership programs that make a real impact.”
Visitors can choose to enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores by the fire, stop at interactive children’s activity stations, mail a letter to Santa, and wave to Santa himself as he takes a break in his toy shop. Families are encouraged to take photos, build memories, and embrace the holiday season in the heart of Darke County.
The event will once again feature its beloved Adopt-a-Tree Contest. Local businesses, organizations, clubs, and community groups may sponsor a tree, decorate it with their own theme, and compete for crowd-voted awards. The trees line the illuminated walking trail, showcasing community pride and creativity.
“It’s incredible to see how much creativity and heart our community puts into the Adopt-a-Tree displays each year,” said Brandi Turner, Program Director at the Light Foundation. “This program is a chance to showcase your business or group while bringing your team together and supporting our youth programs that reach 8,000 young people annually.”
All proceeds from Light Foundation’s Winter Wonderland at Chenoweth Trails support the Foundation’s youth programming—including Camp Vohokase, The LIGHT Project, Timber Frame Leadership Camp, and other hands-on initiatives that inspire young people to become Responsible, Ethical, Accountable Leaders.
We’d like to recognize the generous top supporters whose contributions make Winter Wonderland possible. Our Sleigh Sponsors ($1,000) include: Estate of Kay Poeppelman, Hotel Versailles, and Wayne Healthcare. Our Elf Sponsors($500) include: Hometown Comfort, Jafe Decorating, Leis Realty, MM Defense, My County Link, and Spencer Landscaping.
Families, local groups, church communities, businesses, and visitors of all ages are invited to bundle up, grab a cup of cocoa, and enjoy an evening of lights and holiday magic. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for youth.
