Dolores Alfaretta (Bankson) Butts of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 1:30 AM on Monday, June 6, 2023. She was born on December 30, 1920 to Charles and Myrtle (Rolfe) Bankson of Darke County. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Donald Woodrow Butts.
She is survived by her two sons, Doran and Jan, three grandsons, and two great-grand sons.
Dolores grew up on family farms and graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1938. She also graduated from Kosta School of Beauty and worked as a beautician in Greenville and Dayton.
She was a member of Polk Grove United Church of Christ and a former member of Vandalia Senior Citizens, Miniature Club, Polk Grove Button Club, and Alpha Nu Sorority.
She lived at the Brethren Retirement Community in Chestnut Village for more than 17 years before moving into an apartment there.
Burial is at Polk Grove Cemetery located at Frederick Pike and West National Road (Rt 40) near Vandalia. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Todd Reish presiding. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.zecharbailey.com.
