Clarence “Hap” Phillip Strong

January 11, 1954  –  June 29, 2023

Clarence “Hap” Phillip Strong Jr., 69, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Hap was born on January 11, 1954, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Clarence Strong, Sr. and Ruby Minyard.

In addition to his parents, Hap was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Strong Broderick; and his brother, Charlie Strong.

Hap is survived by his Sons, Rick Strong of New Madison, Ohio, and Phillip (Whitley Hartman) Strong of Greenville, Ohio. His sister Claren (John) Pack of Eaton, Ohio, and his best friend Melanie “Mel” Strong, of Greenville, Ohio. He will also be missed by his grandchild Connor Strong and Niece and Nephew Lori and Bryan Pack.

He spent most of his life working as a master electrician at Corning for 28 years until its closing, and then 15 years at General Films. He was a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching every chance he got. One of his passions included vinyl records, he especially loved them from the 60’s and 70’s. Hap really enjoyed taking photographs, he would label himself as an amateur photographer and saw the beauty of life around him. Hap will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Hap’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Kyle Herrmann officiating. A private burial will take place at Greenmound Cemetery.

His family will be receiving guests on Thursday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
