The Greenville Art Guild is proud to reflect on an inspiring year filled with creative exploration, community engagement, and artistic growth in Darke County. Dedicated to promoting artistic skills and supporting artists at every level, the Guild offered a robust schedule of workshops, demonstrations, and events throughout 2025.
This year’s programming featured several paint outs, beginning with a day of plein air painting at Historic Bear’s Mill, followed by a second gathering at the old bridge in Gettysburg. The Gettysburg event included a shared lunch prepared by Guild President Selena Burk, giving participants time to connect, learn from one another, and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
A major highlight of the year was a special workshop presented by Indiana artist Randall Scott Harden, whose professional insight and instruction offered participants an invaluable opportunity to refine their oil painting skills using both brushes and palette knives. The workshop helped artists loosen up their paintings by working quickly. Each artists completed three paintings during the one-day session.
The Guild also hosted a Fall Art Show at Beanz Buttercream Bakery, shining a spotlight on the diverse creative talents of its members. Community visitors enjoyed an array of paintings and other two-dimensional artwork, making the show a lively celebration of local artistic expression.
Beyond these signature events, the Greenville Art Guild continued its tradition of offering monthly art demonstrations and hands-on activities, covering a range of techniques including mosaics, cyanotype printing, watercolor, art journaling and sketchbook habits, colored pencils, and more. These activities allow artists to learn about new mediums and techniques.
Greenville Art Guild president Selena Burk expressed her appreciation, sharing, “I would like to thank everyone that participated in our 2025 year of events. Sharing each and everyone’s visual thoughts is such a positive way to show what’s around us in our everyday life. We are looking forward to making more art in 2026. Come join us!”
Membership for the Greenville Art Guild provides access to these great events all throughout the year. Membership fees are $20 per year for adults, $5 for students, and $15 for senior citizens, along with lifetime memberships for those who want to make a lasting commitment.
The Guild encourages art enthusiasts and community members to stay connected and follow upcoming events by visiting the group’s Facebook page and exploring their website at greenvilleartguild.org or contact Selena Burk at 937-564-6719.
