It will soon be 2026 and the Arcanum Public Library is here to help you reach your new goals. The Library is a great community resource in helping you make new changes. The Arcanum Public Library offers in person Wi-Fi, personal hot spots, books, movies, tablets, magazines and seeds. A new resource they began offering in 2025 was the Discovery Pass Program. In the Discovery Pass Program, patrons 18+ years old with a Library card in good standing, may check out a pass to several area attractions and museums. This is a wonderful free resource to many educational experiences in our area that would fit perfectly in a New Year’s resolution budget. Please check the rules and front desk for availability and policy to reserve.
The Pop Up Book Sale on January 5th-16th during regular business hours is sure to provide new books and affordable resources available by donation. Be sure to take advantage and stop in.
The many programs available through the Arcanum Public Library also offer opportunities to reach social, community, hobby or learning goals you may have, such as making new friends or learning something new.
Connect with others in the community during Community Euchre Night on Monday, January 5th from 6-7:30PM.
Storytime on Thursdays at 10:00AM is a wonderful opportunity for the youngest patrons in the community to participate in calendar, songs, weather, stories and crafts each week. It will resume January 8th.
Their After School Program is moving in 2026 to Tuesdays from 3:45-4:30PM, beginning January 6th. School-age patrons are invited to join in the weekly activities that may include a snack, craft, Legos, or games and always lots of fun.
If being more creative is in your goals, sign up at the front desk for the January 6th craft at 6:00-7:30PM. They’re making Paper Bag Snowflakes. This craft is for ages 13 and up, and registration is required (937.692.8484) as space is limited. Following creativity on January 13th at 4:00PM is an Adult Coloring Club open to any adult that would like to join in.
There are many apps available that help readers track, set and achieve reading goals for the year, and the Arcanum Public Library would like to encourage your progress in this season through the Adult Winter Reading Program beginning January 2nd and ending March 31st. If you sign up to participate at the front desk, you will receive your weekly reading logs. Each week a new prize is available in a drawing for each participant that turns in at least one log that week. Be sure to enter weekly for more opportunities to win.
