John R. Studabaker Jr.

JUNE 20, 1930 – OCTOBER 2, 2023

John R. Studabaker Jr., age 93 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:50 PM Monday October 2, 2023 at the Brethren Retirement Community Greenville, Ohio. John was born June 20, 1930 in Greenville and the son of the late John Ray and Ruth (Albright) Studabaker Sr.

He was a veteran serving the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953. John was retired as the owner of Studabaker Construction of Greenville and prior to that had been employed as a railroad operator. He was a 1948 graduate of Greenville High School, member of the Greenville Missionary Church, enjoyed playing golf at the Greenville Country Club with the “Geezer Group” and loved boating particularly at Lake Cumberland and Grand Lake St. Marys. At the young age of 80, John was still able to water ski.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine (Fourman) Studabaker in 2015. They were married September 9, 1951. Also by a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Cynthia “Cindy” Studabaker and a sister Elizabeth Studabaker.

John is survived by his children Ben (Susan) Studabaker of Greenville, Dan (Robyn) Studabaker of Greenville and Bonnie (Bill) Scheidel of Huber Heights; grandchildren Scott (Megan) Studabaker, Kristin Studabaker and Neal Underwood, Lisa (Jason) Ryan, Jill (Billy) Nold, Greg (Chelsea) Scheidel, Jeff (Brittany) Studabaker, Jena Studabaker, Kyle (Erika) Studabaker and Katie (Jordan) Lieb; great grandchildren Jackson Ryan, Luke Ryan, Mallory Nold, Will Nold, Grantley Scheidel, Ellie Scheidel, Peyton Scott, Madison Scott, Ellie Studabaker, Mitchell Studabaker, Oakley Studabaker, Kohen Studabaker, Cambrie Lieb, Kinsley Lieb, Sloane Underwood and Sutton Studabaker as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday October 6, 2023 at the Greenville Missionary Church 1110 North Broadway Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Burial with full Military Honors by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Cancer Association of Darke County 1111 Sweitzer Street STE C, Greenville, Ohio, 45331.
