DECEMBER 22, 1950 – NOVEMBER 14, 2023
Gerald “Jerry” E. Hollinger, age 72 of Hollansburg, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at his home. Born in Greenville, Ohio on December 22, 1950 he was one of 2 boys to the late Ernest & Lottie (Dolenga) Hollinger. Jerry was a graduate of Westmont High School, class of 1969. He earned a degree at ITT Tech for a Draftsman, and also farmed, worked at the Brethren Retirement Community and was the head of transportation for Tri-Village Schools for 37 years. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping. He also liked to watch western movies, basketball and baseball games. More than anything he was a hard working family man. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will truly be missed.
Survived by his wife of 53 year, Sondra (Mills) Hollinger, whom he married on June 13, 1970: sons John & Amber Hollinger; Cody & Madison Hollinger: grandchildren Harley Hollinger & fiancé Anthony Naff; Olivia Hollinger: great-granddaughter Viola Naff: brother Jim & Brenda Hollinger.
Friends may call on the family on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM with Deacon David Hollinger presiding. Burial to follow at Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio where the Greenville Honor Guard will perform military honors.
