Duane Edwards honored with this year’s Christmas tree following the parade
Another great Saturday downtown Greenville. Santa took possession of his new home and welcomed many kids who wanted to tell him what they want for Christmas.
At West 5th Street (at the Wayne Theatre-corner) you could have your picture taken with a reindeer and a sleigh and enjoy games in the gaming trailer. And at the Yolo Park you could take a selfie with Clyde, a big, beautiful, fiberglass Clydesdale.
And then, of course, the 20th annual Hometown Holiday Horse Parade. A huge crowd enjoyed the parade. Diana Stebbins was leading the parade as this is her last year as parade chair. Grand Marshal of the 20th Year Hometown Holiday Horse Parade was Matt Light!
Following the Horse Parade, the Community Christmas Tree at the Annie Oakley Park was lit in honor of Duane Edwards. Since revitalizing the tradition of the tree lightening, Duane Edwards is the third member of the community who is honored with this ceremony. Last year it was Diane Brown and the year before, the year of the revitalization, it was Barbara Fee who was honored.
