Pete’s Challenge: Homophones— The Wedding Story: Sounds Right!

Pete has created a new type puzzle for you. Remember, homophones are words that sound alike but are spelled differently and may have different meanings such as “to, too, and two.” Find the answers to the numbered clues and put them on the matching numbered dashes in the story paragraph. Each answer word is started for you: a dash stands for a letter. Some of the answers make up compound words. If the puzzle is completed correctly and read aloud—it should sound right and Pete hopes make sense.

Story paragraph: It was (1)____ (2)____(3)____(4) ____ her (5)____(6)____date. A bride’s (7)___was preparing food for the (8)____(9)___(10)___. The (11)____girl was trying on her (12)___(13)____.
