William D. McClure, 71 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2023 at 8:06 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community. William was born February 21, 1952 in Darke County, Ohio, the son of the late Harry J. and Phyllis (McNutt) McClure.
William served his country honorably in the United States Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked as a security guard at Fram; he loved the outdoors especially hiking and wildlife.
William is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his sister, Rita McClure.
William is survived by his wife of 29 years Shirley A. (Melling) McClure of Greenville whom he married February 8, 1994; his stepson Gary Joe Bickel; his step grandchildren, Taylor Thompson, Sarah Bickel, Savannah Bickel, and Gage Bickel; his siblings, Nancy and John Crowell, Steven McClure, Shirley Slade, and Barbara Schaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Williams wishes there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
