Delitha Epley

May 27, 1944 — December 26, 2023

Delitha M. Epley, 79, formerly of Covington, and a resident of Piqua for the last 3½ years, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, December 26, 2023, lying next to her daughter Rebecca, who was her longtime caregiver. She was born May 27, 1944, in Valley Creek, Tennessee, to the late Joe and Stella (Sells) Green. She married Marvin E. Epley on June 27, 1959 in Scott County, Tenn.; he preceded her in death on November 25, 2017.

She will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Rebecca (Chuck) Wagner of Piqua and Sheryl (Scott) Kolker of Piqua; her sons, Chris (Kelly) Epley of Greenville, Marvin (Lori) Epley of Troy and Joe (Michelle) Epley of Troy; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, with three future great-great-grandchildren to be. She is also survived by a sister, Lillie (Gerald) Miller of Piqua; her brothers, Ralph (Barb) Green of Piqua, Bill (Joyce) Green of Troy and Arnold (Nell) Green of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Epley; daughter, Janet-Faye Epley; a sister; four brothers and two half-brothers.

Delitha retired from Comfort Inn of Piqua and was a member of The Valley Church of Piqua. She loved to spend time with her family and loved to cook, and what a great cook she was. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crafting, reading cookbooks, watching TV and listening to music. She will be deeply missed.

A service to honor her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 29, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, and again from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
