Wanted Person

On April 27, 2024 at approximately 8:24 PM police responded to 524 Gray Avenue in reference to a known male, Matthew Rutherford, staying there with an active warrant for a parole violation. PO spoke to Joseph Smith who resides at the listed address. Joseph stated Matthew was there yesterday but was not there at this time. PO asked Joseph for consent to search the house for Matthew, to which he advised the house was not his but his father’s. PO spoke to Joseph Buckley who also resides at the residence who stated the house was in Wanda Buckley’s name. Joseph Buckley allowed us to enter the residence to speak to Wanda due to her being unable to come outside. While speaking to Wanda she granted permission to search the house for Matthew and pointed upwards with her finger indicating he was upstairs. While searching the residence, police started searching the upstairs bedrooms. In the left upstairs bedroom was a closet door that appeared to be locked. Joseph Smith stated the bedroom was Carrie Swink’s room and he believed she had a key to the closet door. Carrie came upstairs and stated the door did not have a lock on it and just needed pulled open. PO pulled the door open and once opened Matthew Rutherford was located. Matthew was placed in handcuffs. Dispatch confirmed the warrant through LEADS/NCIC. Matthew was patted down and placed in the back of the cruiser. Matthew was transported to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and incarcerated for the Parole Violation and held with no bond.

Animal Problem

On April 28, 2024 at approximately 4:56 PM police responded to 746 Martin Street in reference to an animal problem. PO made contact with the complainant, Destinee Parkman, and another witness, Jakoby Tomlinson. Both witnesses stated they saw a small black K9 running loose towards them in their backyard. Jakoby advised he was familiar with dogs living in a house behind them at 171 Bellevernon Avenue and knocked on their door with no answer. While returning back to his residence, Jakoby noticed two additional black K9s located in the back seat of a tan Saturn bearing the license plate JSJ1793 parked next to a yellow truck bearing the license plate JXU5105 behind 171 Bellevernon Avenue with one of them appearing deceased. Destinee also stated she remembered seeing three K9s in the back of the tan Saturn the night prior. Once at the vehicle containing the two K9s, it was made clear one of the K9s had a large laceration on the top of its head that was still actively bleeding and was missing its whole left ear. Both Jakoby and Destinee agreed to fill out statement forms that were completed and returned back to PO. In the vehicle a large container used to store food for the K9s was located, but the K9s were unable to reach the food in the container. A gallon container was also located but the K9s were unable to reach the water inside. During this time the Darke County Humane Society was contacted to remove the K9s from the vehicle for their safety and to receive emergency medical attention due to the missing ear and the laceration on its head. During the course of the investigation, the owner of the K9s, Robert Barton, and his son, Michael Barton, showed up at the residence. Robert stated he had gone to dinner around 4:00 P. M. and gave them food and water prior to him leaving. Robert and Michael both stated they were aware that two of the K9s did not get along and have fought in the past, but still placed the K9s in close proximity of each other. Robert stated he gave the K9s a yellow container to drink out of, the container was located in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The back passenger floor board was wet and the container was empty. The Darke County Humane Society arrived on scene and was able to transport all three of the K9s away from the residence without issue. Pictures were taken of the K9s and the vehicle they were located in and attached to this report.

Domestic Violence

On April 29, 2024 at approximately 5:40 PM police was dispatched to 235 East Main Street in reference to an instance of domestic violence. PO spoke with complainant/involved person; Brandon Emrick who stated that he had been in a verbal argument with involved person; Alexis Kincaid. Brandon and Alexis are in a romantic relationship and reside together. Both parties stated the argument had only been verbal with no physical contact being made. Brandon left the residence for the evening. BCI Only/3 School age children present during the incident.

Wanted Person

On April 30th 2024, at approximately 6:03 PM a known subject was apprehended at 537 South Broadway Street Greenville OH 45331; Coffee Pot. Coffee Pot employee Eric Besecker advised GPD dispatch that Josiah Randall was inside the business after being warned for trespass. PO made contact with Josiah who was known to have a probation violation warrant for original charge of criminal trespass out of Greenville Police Department. Josiah was placed in handcuffs. Josiah was searched incident to arrest, and no contraband was found. Josiah was transported to Darke County Jail, where he was released to jail staff with no bond.

Vandalism

On May 01, 2024, at approximately 9:51 AM police was dispatched to 106 East Water Street referencing vandalism to a vehicle. PO observed a red Ford Focus bearing Ohio registration JUD8335 parked on the street in front of 106 East Water Street. PO spoke to Stacy Segura who stated that the vehicle is registered to her son, the victim Emiliano Segura. Stacy stated that she got off work around midnight on 3-1-24 hours and that her daughter Olivia Segura (Olivia Chance) drove the car to work after Stacy had got home. Olivia stated she left work around 1:30 AM on 5-1-24. Olivia stated she parked the car in front of 106 East Water Street. Olivia stated in the morning at approximately 6:55 AM she had got up to take Emiliano to work when she noticed the rear window of the car had a hole in it as well as the glass being cracked around the hole. Olivia stated that she moved the car to go pick up Emiliano for work the glass that was cracked shattered. Emiliano is aware of the damage and was on the phone with Stacy. Stacy stated she has a ring camera but does not work. PO checked the surrounding area where PO did not observe any cameras in the immediate area. PO checked neighboring houses and did not find anyone who witnessed the incident. Stacy stated she would not know who would have done this. Olivia and Stacy both stated that no items were missing from the vehicle. PO did not find the object used to damage the window. Unknown how the window was busted. Photos of the damage to the car will be attached to this report. Stacy provided insurance information through Allstate ( 826597767). No possible suspects at this time

Animal Problem

On May 1st, 2024 at approximately 7:34 PM police was dispatched to 135 Eastwood Dr on an animal complaint call. PO spoke with Ashley Hupman at 135 Eastwood Dr in reference to her son child victim (who will now be referred to as CV) being bitten by a German Shepard at 129 Eastwood Dr. CV was out back of the 129 residence when the dog got loose from the house and bit him on the back of his right arm. CV ran away from the dog and was able to climb the tree house at another residence, while the dog continued to run off the owners premises. PO was able to observe deep bite marks on the back of CV’ S arm. After speaking with Ashley and another neighbor, Jeni Jones, they were able to fill out statements stating the dog has bitten the kid in the past. In their statements they also said this is an on going issue of the dog getting loose, they are also in fear that they will be attacked. PO spoke with the dog owner Barbara Prasuhn. Barbara stated the same, the kids were out back on her property when the dog got loose and bit CV on the arm. Barbara also stated that she has warned the CV and his mother multiple times that she doesn’t want him at the residence because the CV will throw sticks and mess with the dog. Barbara said that when CV was bit he was still on her property, PO advised her that there’s still an issue with the dog biting people and that the dog has a reputation of getting loose. Barbara said he does get loose but its not that frequent. PO issued Barbara a citation for animals at large. The dog warden was contacted and advised of the situation, photographs were also taken of CV injuries. CV was transported to an urgent care by his mother, she also filled out the victims rights form.
