We are excited to be partnering with local government entities and businesses to increase accessibility for anyone in our community with mobility and/or sensory needs.
Darke DD secured a grant for the following projects:
- YOLO park – Universal changing table (city is adding a family restroom)
- EUM Church Main Campus – Universal changing table
- New Madison Public Library – Universal changing table (library will convert both bathrooms to family restrooms)
- Darke County Fairgrounds – Universal changing table, paved pathways for accessibility to animal barns, and sensory friendly room
- Radiant Lighthouse Church – Wheelchair lift to main stage
- Garst Avenue County Building – addition of a ramp to access Probate Court and the Health Department located on the second floor

That makes it necessary for all of us to understand and appreciate both the barriers they must surmount and the contributions that they can make to our society.

We must become more aware of the barriers that prevent or inhibit so many of our fellow Americans from participating fully in the life of our society, and how much more they could contribute if those obstacles were removed….”
