Vehicle Theft
On January 16th, 2026 I was dispatched to 106 Vine St Greenville in reference to a trailer theft. Upon arrival I made contact with the complainant/victim, Aaron Cutarelli. Cutarelli stated his trailer was last observed on his property at 2030hrs on 1/15/26. Cutarelli stated that when arrived at the building on 1/16/26 he observed the trailer to be missing and observed footprints that did not belong to him or his employees going around the building.
I observed the tire tracks in the snow appear to leave heading out Winchester Ave/ State Route 502. I did a neighborhood canvas and checked all houses with cameras on Winchester as well as Vine St with no success. Schraders also did not having working camera’s at the time. Cutarelli made contact with 120 Vine St and was supposed to check his camera’s.
Cutarelli described the trailer as a 14′ by 7′ dump trailer. Cutarelli stated that there was a solar panel mounted on the front of the trailer to charge the battery as well as had a second solar panel to illuminate the license plate.
The trailers registration is Ohio UCR9616.
Pictures were taken of the foot prints in the snow as well as possible tire marks on the vehicle used to pull the trailer out.
Cutarelli gave a written statement and filled out his victims right request form. Dispatch entered the trailer into LEADS/NCIC as stolen.
Assisting other Agency – Death
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 1315 hours I responded to Marathon gas station, 841 Martin Street in the City of Greenville in reference to a person slumped over the steering wheel in a vehicle and not breathing.
Upon my arrival I observed Greenville Rescue, who was first on scene, starting life saving measures. The male later identified as Richard Hollinger, the victim was then placed into a Greenville Rescue squad vehicle where life saving measures continued. The victim was then pronounced deceased shortly after.
The victim was transported to Wayne Hospital Morgue by Greenville Rescue. Det. Dickman took photos of the scene, and the vehicle was towed to Greenville Police Impound on Hart Avenue. See Det. Dickman’s report for any further information.
The complainant, Brittany Baker, filled out a written statement that will be attached to this report. The store manager advised he would send me the video footage leading up to this incident. He was given a business card with my email. I gathered paperwork for the tow bill.
Wanted Person
On January 21st, 2026, at approximately 2305 hours, I was on routine patrol when I observed a subject wearing a face mask walking southbound on Gray avenue at the intersection of Gray Avenue and Sater Street in the city of Greenville.
I rolled down my window to make a consensual encounter with the subject and said, “hey” as he walked by. The subject said hey back as he walked by but then stopped, walked up to my police cruiser and stuck his head through my open front passenger side window. I asked the subject his name which he advised it was Ethin. I was familiar with a subject named Ethin Hoffman who had an active warrant through the Greenville Police Department for failure to appear on an original charge of Domestic Violence and had to serve 3 days. I asked Ethin if his last name was Hoffman which he advised it was.
I exited my police cruiser and advised Ethin of his warrant and detained him in handcuffs which were double locked and gap checked. Ethin confirmed his identity and his warrant was confirmed by GPD dispatch.
Ethin was transported to the Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated for his warrant.
The back seat of my police cruiser was checked prior to and after transport and no contraband was located.
