Theft (not in progress)

On June 25th, 2024, at 4:16 PM police was dispatched to 122 West Main Street; Greenville Police Department, in reference to theft. PO spoke with the complainant/victim, Eric Keagy. Eric stated that he went to the 301 Wagner Avenue; YMCA at 5AM, upon leaving the YMCA at 6:20AM he noticed his wallet was missing from the center console of his vehicle. Eric stated that he must have left his vehicle unlocked because there were no signs of forced entry. He stated that he went home to check the house to see if left it there. Eric checked his bank statements online from Chase Bank of his personal credit card, noticing a purchase was made from JandPcycles. com. A purchase was made on 6/25/2024 at 5:52AM totally in the amount $349.42, while Eric was at the YMCA. Eric contacted his banks, canceling his cards and canceling the order from JandPcycles.com. PO was able to get ahold of JandPcycles.com who provided an invoice along with a copy of the email used for the invoice. The invoice shows 3 items were purchased, Kuryaken ISO foot pegs for a Harley Davidson, a set of Harley Davidson gas tank emblems, and a fender emblem set for a Harley Davidson. all totaling in $349.42. The invoice shows the last four of Eric’s personal debit card used. The name on the invoice was “Eric Jeagy”. The items were shipped to 195 Bellevernon Avenue, Greenville OH 45331. The items that were taken was a black VA wallet containing $200 in U.S. Currency 2 debit cards from Chase bank, one was a personal account, and one was his business account, 2 credit cards from Chase bank one his personal account and one his business account, his Ohio driver’s license, along with other miscellaneous items. The business accounts belong to Keagy Trucking, which Eric owns. PO found a Maria Barton in Spillman living at 171 Bellevernon Avenue. PO made contact with Robert Barton, Maria’s Husband, who was out back working on his motorcycle. Robert stated that he does not know anything about the wallet being stolen, stating that he does not go to the YMCA. When asking Robert why his wife’s email was used for a stolen credit card, he stated that his wife’s email was hacked, but then went on stating that he doesn’t understand how emails work. Robert advised that he does not know where Maria is at, only that he knew she was staying on East Third Street. PO asked Robert what kind of motorcycle he had, he stated it was a 1996 Harley Davidson. PO observed a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle with no emblems on either side of the gas tank. After speaking with Robert, PO went to 195 Bellevernon Avenue to speak with the resident there. PO made contact with Alexander Subler. PO asked Alexander if he knew Robert Barton, Alexander stated that Robert was his uncle. After speaking with Alexander, PO had GPD dispatch run a registration check on him. PO found that Alexander owns a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle. PO attempted to make contact with Mariah by a phone number that Alexander had gave him, along with the number in Spillmam but has been unable to get ahold of her. Both YMCA and Advance Auto staff advised they do not have out door cameras. The invoice and paperwork from JandPcycles. com have been attached to this report. Eric completed a statement and a victim’s rights form; both will be attached to this receipt. This case will need further investigation.

Menacing

On June 25, 2024 at approximately 3:43 PM police responded to 325 E Third Street in reference to an agency assist with Adult Parole (AP). Police made contact with AP McWhinney. AP advised that Terry Goodpaster currently resides at this residence with his girlfriend, Tesla Fox, and her 3 small children. AP stated that approximately 20 minutes prior to police’s arrival, Terry, who is on parole through her department, had Tesla call in reference to an issue involving Franz Hardin. Tesla stated that Franz arrived to the house unannounced driving Lisa Gannim’s blue/gray Nissan Ultima. The property is rented primarily by Lisa who has allowed Franz to stay there in the past, however, they are both currently residing at 133 Sandhurst Street in Verona. Tesla stated Franz began knocking on the front door. She states she told Franz to go away multiple times, but he refused. Tesla states that she began talking to him through the door. Tesla stated that Franz then said, “Tell Terry to come outside. I’ve got something for him. I’m going to smoke him.” Tesla stated that as Franz said “smoke him,” he was patting at the waistband of his pants. Tesla stated she did not see a firearm but believed that he was armed. Tesla stated she was in fear for her children’s lives as well as her own. Tesla stated that Franz then turned around and walked off the porch. She stated as he walked away, two men with their hoods up came forward walking in the yard along the side of the residence. Tesla stated that Franz got into the drivers seat and the two men got into the back seat. Tesla advised there was also a tall black male who then got into the passenger seat of the car before it drove away. Terry stated that while this encounter was occurring, he stayed in the bedroom with the children. Tesla stated she then called AP McWhinney and advised her of the incident. Both Terry and Tesla filled out written statements that will be attached to this report. Terry stated that since he was released from prison, Franz has made multiple threats in regards to killing him. In this instance Terry did not personally hear the threats made but did see the subjects outside of his residence. Both Terry and Tesla were advised of the CPO process and advised to go to the courthouse tomorrow. A Sgt spoke to AP McWhinney shortly after this incident. She advised that Preble County AP Jammie Bown had been made aware of this situation reference Franz being on Parole through their department. Per Preble County, Franz is wearing a trackable ankle monitor that placed him on E Third Street at the time of this complaint. Due to this information, Preble County AP contacted the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections and, through Adult Parole Authority, issued an order of arrest for Franz. Franz is known to be armed and dangerous and has previously engaged law enforcement with a firearm. Due to the nature of this incident, a misdemeanor Aggravated Menacing citation was completed for Franz. This citation will be put in the briefing log and is to be served when he is located.

Domestic (not in progress)

On June 25th, 2024 police was dispatched Wayne Hospital, 835 Sweitzer Street in reference to a domestic violence/assault. PO made contact with the victim, Leigha Baker. PO observed Leigha’s left eye to be swollen and she could barely hold it open. Leigha had blood running down from a cut on top of her eye near the bridge of her nose. Leigha also had blood on the left side of her nose where she appeared to be scratched. PO asked Leigha what happened? She stated she showed up to her children’s father’s (Jesse York) house at 205 Cypress St to pick up her two kids. Leigha stated one kid wanted to stay with Jesse and Jesse wanted her to stay too. Leigha stated that Jesse was “acting mean and hostile” and Leigha wanted the kid to leave with her. Leigha stated that Jesse talked her into going inside the residence to get her daughter. Leigha stated while inside Jesse ”beat” her before letting her go to find her daughter. When PO asked Leigha how Jesse beat her she stated by punching, tackling, pulling her hair, and pushing her. Leigha stated that this all occurred a little after 4:00PM and did not have an exact time. Leigha stated the two kids left the residence with her. Leigha’s mom, Robyn Baker, was sitting outside the residence when these events took place. Robyn is the one who transported Leigha to the hospital. Leigha explained that she has the two kids listed as kids in common with Jesse. Leigha stated she hasn’t lived at 205 Cypress for approximately 8 months. A witness that was located several houses down, Kraig Mowry, stated he saw a “couple” arguing out on the sidewalk and it seemed heated. Kraig stated that the couple went into the residence and approximately ten minutes later the female came running out of these residence screaming and wailing while holding her face near her eye. Mowry stated he could see blood running down her face. Mowry gave a written witness statement. PO went to 205 Cypress St and attempted to locate Jesse but was unsuccessful. Several neighbors believed that he ran out the back the door when the incident occurred. PO was called back down the residence approximately 45 minutes after he left. Neighbors reported that they saw Jesse walking around asking about his dog. Neighbors believed Jesse went back inside his residence. PO was unsuccessful at getting an answer at the door or getting an answer on a telephone number that was given that belongs to Jesse. Jesse did knowingly cause or attempt to cause harm to Leigha whom he shares two children with and had been living in as a spouse within 5 years of this incident. Jesse was unable to be located but will be issued citations for Domestic Violence and Assault both being a first-degree misdemeanor. Jesse has no prior Domestic Violence convictions. Pictures were taken of Leigha’s injuries and will be added to the case file. Leigha gave a written witness statement as well as completed a victims rights request/waiver form.

Wanted Person

On July 25, 2024, around 9:09 PM police was dispatched to 331 West Water Street in reference to a report of a wanted person being at the residence. PO had prior knowledge the resident, known to him as Jaden Johnson, had a bench warrant out of the Greenville Police Department for Failing to Appear on a disorderly conduct charge. PO approached the front door and knocked on it. Jaden opened the door and stepped onto the front porch. PO informed Jaden he had a warrant and was under arrest. Jaden was placed in handcuffs and was transported to the Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated with a $1,000 bond.

Identity Theft

On June 26, 2024. at approximately 1:35 PM police responded to 1120 Russ Road (Taco Bell) in reference to a possible Identity theft. PO spoke to Kendra Heise, who is an employee at Taco Bell. Kendra stated that on June 19, at approximately 9:50 PM she received a message from her friend “Tyler Smith”. Kendra stated Tyler messaged her on Facebook stating he used her name but used his social security number to receive a free government phone through the website Qlinkwireless.com. Kendra stated she has not met Tyler in person but she has talked to him through facetime. Kendra stated she was not sure on when Tyler’s birthday is but another friend of hers advised his birthday was “April 25, 2002”. Kendra stated she initially did not want a report done, but friends and family changed her mind. Kendra stated she was afraid she would get in trouble if he did something wrong with her name and she was unaware if Tyler had any other information of hers other than her name. Kendra advised that she has never shared other personal information with anyone. Kendra filled out a written statement as well as a victim rights form. Kendra advised that Tyler has since blocked her on Facebook and was unsure if she would be able to get the messages he sent to her. Kendra stated she just wanted this documented for any future actions he might take. Kendra was advised to keep an eye on all of her accounts and report anything that she did not approve of.

Trespassing

On June 27, 2024, at approximately 4:49 AM police was dispatched to The Laundry Room, 849 E Main Street in reference to a subject trespassing on the property. PO located the defendant, known to him as Michael Falknor, standing in the parking lot; beside the building. PO approached Michael and advised him of the complaint. PO had prior knowledge Michael had been warned for trespass at The Laundry Room. Michael also knew he had been trespassed from the property after he received a verbal warning from another PO on May 27, 2024. On June 22, 2024 at 12:30 AM PO also located Michael at The Laundry Room and had advised him he had been trespassed from the property. The owner, Tom Hunt, did not want to pursue charges for the violation on June 22, 2024. On this incident, Tom did wish to charge Michael with criminal trespass. Tom filled out a statement and a victim’s rights waiver form. Michael was issued a citation for criminal trespass and left the property.

Domestic

On June 27th, 2024, at approximately 5:21 PM, while on patrol PO observed a verbal domestic in the back yard of 636 Martin Street. Cheyenne Harter and Dylan Smith were in a verbal argument in the back yard. Both stated that the argument was about their son that they have together, being around each other’s new significant others. Both stated that it was mutual for Cheyanne to come over and that there was no physical altercation. Cheyanne lives on 2530 Hollansburg Arcanam Road and Dylan resides at 636 Martin Street. Dylan advised that their son was with his mother and not at the residence. Dylan did not want Cheyanne trespassed and only for her to leave for the evening. Cheyanne left for the evening without further incident. No school age children were present during this incident. BCI ONLY
