Debbie Lynn, a lifetime resident of Darke County, is celebrating 25 years of performance in the Gazebo at the Darke County Fair on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM.
Debbie has been singing and playing music since she was a little girl. Her first instrument was her dad’s wrenches on the cement floor of GREENVILLE FORD TRACTOR. Debbie learned to play Organ, at the end of 1st grade. Her mother played a huge part of Debbie’s musical career by putting her in organ lessons at such a young age. Debbie continued music at Tri-Village school by playing clarinet in marching and pep band, but also played oboe in concert band. Also being a part of the Chorus Debbie brought home Superior Ratings at OMEA competitions. Her Senior year with Tri-Village being the size class C school she decided to compete at class A level and brought home a 1 for her teacher. That is the highest rating one can achieve at this competition. Through the years, with the guidance of her family and LoriJon studio productions Debbie released a total of 7 albums. She is now is a professional singer/songwriter with her original material on both WTGR and KTXJ radio.
With her strong, yet beautiful voice Debbie has graced the stage of many concerts. Most recently she opened for Paul Rosewood, who will be opening for Aaron Tippin in August at BMI concert hall in Versailles. Debbie presents an emotional ending to every program as she brings forth the Veterans in her audience to join her on stage for her grand finale. She has her own youtube channel. She will continue to add to her library of videos as time permits.
Debbie not only appeals to Gospel music followers but she entertains the public at fairs and festivals with cover tunes from the 50’s rock and roll era to 90’s country music. Debbie is no stranger to the racetracks either. For the past 25 years Debbie performed the National Anthem at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway. Her signature hello to the crowd is her famous long note in the phrase “land of the free”. She holds that note and looks at the crowd from turn 3 to turn 1. The crowd always responds with overjoyed excitement. She has also performed the National Anthem at Rodeos, Demolition Derbys, and more.
She wrote STANDING TOGETHER and that landed her an Independent song of the year nomination and won a King Eagle award. Little did she know at the time pen and paper met in 1998 that this particular song would be heard and requested at many candlelight vigils during our Nation’s tragedy.
Music is her release and she did just that as she wrote ON THE DAY WE SAID GOODBYE. This song pays an emotional tribute to those lost on 9-11. Debbie’s first song was home recorded at the age of 15. Since then the music just grew and so did the songwriting. Her newest single I STAND FOR THE FLAG AND KNEEL FOR THE CROSS is now playing on WTGR and KTXJ, and it is currently being reviewed by a major publishing company in the music industry. Debbie has received many Blessings in her lifetime, and now as she says I definitely will pay it forward. She thanks God first for without Him she would not be able to sing today. She wants to thank her family for all of their support. Last but certainly not least, she thanks her friends and fans for following her and prays that the Lord’s presence is felt by all who listen to her songs.
