Vehicle Theft

On June 29, 2024, at 11:25 PM police was dispatched to 403 1/2 North Gray Avenue in reference to a theft of a motor vehicle. PO met with the victim, known tohim as Keith Mitchell at the rear of the residence. Keith advised his vehicle, a black 1997 Honda Civic was parked in the yard; behind his apartment. The last time Keith knew the car was parked there was approximately 9PM on this date. Keith went to sleep on his couch and was awoken by Todd Garner in his residence. Keith knew Todd but had not given him permission to come into his residence. Keith had the door locked to his apartment but advised it was very easy to open when locked. Todd does stop by Keith’s residence regularly but in this instance, he had gotten through a locked door and had not been invited to come into his apartment. Keith has a camera facing his entry door; it failed to pick up Todd entering Keith’s residence. Todd talked to Keith briefly, but Keith asked him to leave. Todd left the apartment and Keith went back to sleep. When Keith woke up, he noticed the keys to his Honda were missing from his end table. Keith soon found his Honda was also stolen. Todd was the only other subject in Keith’s apartment and had access to his keys. According to Keith, Todd has never been in Keith’s Honda. Keith showed PO recent pry marks on his entry door. Photos were taken of the pry marks and the area where the keys were stolen from. The photos were added to the case file. The Honda was entered into LEADS/NCIC as stolen. Keith filled out a victim’s rights waiver form and statement in regard to this incident. At 1:07 AM hours the listed Honda was located in Randolph County. An unknown suspect, believed to be Todd Garner, was seen exiting the vehicle with a K-9 and running into a field. The suspect could not be located. The vehicle was removed from LEADS/NCIC. The vehicle was towed back to the Hart Avenue Impound Garage by Johnson Towing, where it was stored until it can be processed. Keith was notified his vehicle was recovered and waiting to be processed.

Disorderly

On July 01, 2024, at approximately 10:19 AM police was dispatched to 101 East Main Street, the Greenville Post Office in reference to a suspicious person. Prior to PO’s arrival dispatch advised a female suspect threw a water bottle at a mail van and was screaming at the driver. She was last seen walking towards East Third Street wearing a blue dress with a white bag. A PO made contact with a female fitting that description that was later identified as Christina Fischer. PO spoke to the complainant, Marilyn Petty, a post office employee. Marilyn stated she was in her mail van and Christina was standing behind the mail van in the parking lot of the post office. Marilyn also stated that she is required to honk her horn prior to backing up. Marilyn advised once she honked the horn, Christina became agitated and began yelling at her and threw a water bottle at the vehicle. Marilyn advised she wanted to pursue charges and was willing to fill out a statement form. After giving the complainant a statement form, PO went to 430 East Fifth Street, where the other PO had Christina stopped at. Marilyn completed the written statement form and victims rights form which are included with this report. PO checked with the post office for possible video footage, and they advised they do not have cameras. Christina was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and was advised of her court date.

Disorderly

On July 2, 2024, at 3:37 PM police was dispatched to 300 Harrison Ave. PO spoke with Raven Baker. She stated that two males in a pickup truck came to the residence to drop property off to an ex-girlfriend, Trinity. Raven stated that after dropping the property off, the male passenger of the truck later identified as Mason Lanham, punched her in the face. Curtis Shelton was also present and stated that Mason smacked Raven in the face. PO did not observe any red marks or bleeding on Ravens face/nose area. Raven and Curtis wrote statements. PO observed cameras on the residence of 216 Harrison Ave. and contacted the homeowner. He provided video of the incident on 7-3-24. Video shows a blue pickup truck on the street in front of 300 Harrison Ave. Raven approaches the passenger’s side. Conversation appears to be happening. No audio is with the video. Curtis Shelton is observed taking his shirt off attempting to go to the truck. Trinity is observed holding Curtis back. The truck begins to pull away and Raven walks along with the rolling truck. The truck pulls away off camera and Raven is observed running to her red vehicle and driving off camera at a high rate of speed. PO did not observe any punch or sap by anyone. Jessica stated that she went to Mason Lanhams residence to get him to stop calling Trinity. On 7-3-24 PO was able to contact James Lanham, driver of the truck and his son Mason Lanham, passenger of the truck. James stated that he took Mason to drop items off to an ex-girlfriend at 300 Harrison Ave. During that time Mason was upset and crying. He was yelling out the window for Trinity to come and talk to him. James stated a black female approached his passenger side and told them to leave. James stated he attempted to leave but she was hanging onto the passenger side window area so he felt like he could not leave. Mason states that Curtis was yelling at him to get out and fight him. Mason stated that Trinity cheated on him with Curtis. Mason stated that Raven is known to him to carry a firearm on her person. Mason stated he observed Raven reach into her pocket and begin pulling out what he thought was a firearm. Mason stated he yelled to James she has a gun. James pulled the truck away from the area and headed home to 1433 Sweitzer St Apt A. Approximately 30 minutes later at their residence, Jessica Shelton and Raven Baker arrived in two different vehicles. Curtis Shelton was inside one of the vehicles. James stated that they were yelling for Mason to come out of the house to fight. James exited the residence to speak with Curtis. He told them to leave, or he was calling 911. They exited the property but went to the next-door apartments parking lot continuing to yell for Mason to come out and fight. James and Mason both state that Raven yelled that if Mason did not come out to fight, she would call the police and say Mason smacked her. Mason did not wish to write a statement for fear of retaliation. James wrote a statement for the incident. Neither wanted to pursue criminal charges. This case can be closed due to lack of evidence. Nothing shows an assault took place, video and no visible marks or injury. DVD was secured in property for safekeeping.

Domestic

On July 3rd, 2024, at approximately 9:53 PM police was dispatched to 5438 State Route 49 lot #42: Colonial Trailer Park, in reference to a domestic dispute. BCI only between Cheyenne Fulton and Travis Ward Jr. Cheyenne and Travis reside together 5438 State Route 49 lot #42. Both stated that they were in a verbal argument about Cheyenne breaking up with Travis. Both parties denied any physical altercation. Cheyenne and Travis are in a romantic relationship and have an 8-month-old child together. Cheyenne and Travis both stated that they were leaving the residence for the evening. No school age children were present during this incident.

Domestic

On July 4, 2024 at 12:26 PM police was dispatched to 718 Gray Avenue in reference to a report of a verbal domestic dispute between residents, Kimberly Dotson and William Riegle. William allowed Kimberly to move in with him a few months prior as a caretaker. During this incident, William and Kimberly were in a verbal argument over missing silverware. Both parties decided to stay at the residence. BCI only. No school aged children present

Missing Person

On July 4, 2024, at 12:35 PM police was dispatched to 320 Eleventh Street in reference to an unruly juvenile. The juvenile left prior to officers’ arrival. PO spoke with the victim/mother of the juvenile, Abigail Harshman. Abigail told PO she was in a verbal argument with the juvenile. The argument became so heated that the juvenile locked Abigail out of their residence at 320 Eleventh Street. When Abigail was let in by her other children, the argument continued. The juvenile cussed and screamed at Abigail. The juvenile eventually grabbed his cell phone and left the residence. Abigail filled out a victim’s rights waiver form and statement regarding this incident. The juvenile was last seen traveling west on Eleventh Street and was believed to be attempting to get to an unknown location in Union City. He was wearing a black Champion T-shirt and black sweatpants. He is approximately 5’3″, 130 lbs, has black curly hair, brown eyes, and is darker complected. He was entered LEADS/NCIC as a missing juvenile. On July 8, 2024, around 12:31 PM police returned to 320 Eleventh Street to follow up on this incident. PO spoke with Abigail. Abigail advised the juvenile had returned home on July 7, 2024, around 9 PM, with her failing to call police. PO spoke to the juvenile about the incident and found he had gotten a ride to Union City, where he stayed until July 7, 2024. He was issued a citation for being an unruly juvenile.  He was removed from LEADS/NCIC.
