Sidney, OH – Looking for a fun way to get your team out of the office, build morale, and give back to the community? Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2026 is rolling in, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby and Darke County is inviting local businesses, organizations, and community members to join the fun.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS) is the signature annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and one of the most fun. Teams of five bowlers come together for an hour of bowling, friendly competition, prizes, and plenty of laughs, all while raising critical funds to support local youth through one-to-one mentoring.
No bowling skills required, just bring your coworkers, your team spirit, and maybe your best trash talk.
“Bowl for Kids’ Sake is one of the easiest ways for businesses to make a real impact while giving employees a chance to relax and connect,” said April Brubaker, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby & Darke County. “You show up, you have fun, and you leave knowing you helped change a child’s life. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
Funds raised through BFKS help support professionally matched mentoring relationships between BIGS (adult mentors) and LITTLES (youth mentees). Each match costs $1,500–$2,500 annually and includes background checks, child-safety education, interviews, match planning, and ongoing support, ensuring every connection is safe, meaningful, and built to last.
Businesses can participate in several ways:
- Sponsor the event and bring a team of five employees
- Sponsor a lane for Bigs & Littles to enjoy a special night of bowling
- Register individual bowlers or multiple teams
- Make a donation to support local mentoring programs
Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2026 will take place in Shelby County February 27 & 28 and in Darke County on March 1, with multiple time slots available. Teams receive, pizza and snacks, event t-shirts, bowling time, chances to win prizes, and serious feel-good points.
The goal for 2026 is to raise $40,000, and community support, especially from local employers, makes it possible. When businesses roll together, kids win.
