Janice M. Lyme

August 17, 1937 — August 23, 2024

Janice Marie Lyme, 87, of Greenville, formerly of Ansonia, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville. 

She was born on August 17, 1937, in Greenville, to the late Thurman and Edith (Fourman) House. 

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Lyme, whom she married on April 27, 1956, and who passed away on June 10, 2017; her grandson, Keith Lyme; her sister, Jane Stump; and her brother-in-law, Jim Stump.

Janice is survived by her significant other, Keith Gower of Greenville; her sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas (Jeanne) Lyme of Greenville, Donald (Lynda) Lyme of Tennessee, Dale (Joyce) Lyme of Greenville; grandchildren, Christina Kroner, Jennifer (Sean) Homan, Niki (Justin) Conly, Stacie (Craig) Koesters, and Elizabeth (Zach) Arnold: 10 great grandchildren; her siblings, Lowell “Bud” (Janice) House of Greenville, and Helen Stump of Coldwater; her brother-in-law, Clyde Stump of Greenville, her in-laws, Dorothy Worch of New Madison and Ron (Tina) Lyme of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Janice was a 1955 graduate of Westmont High School in Hollansburg. She had various jobs, but her most important job was being a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her much joy and she enjoyed spending time with them. She formerly attended the Ansonia First Church of God and more recently attended Greenville Missionary Church. 

Along with her husband, Janice was a member of the International and Ohio Flying Farmers organization. In her free time, Janice enjoyed baking, especially her famous sugar cookies, reading, and going out to eat, while socializing with friends and family. She was an avid college basketball fan and enjoyed rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Janice loved to take walks and go to the YMCA, where she walked over 2000 miles. 

A Celebration of Janice’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Guests may visit with her family on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
