DECEMBER 2, 1939 – SEPTEMBER 8, 2024
Roy E. Flatter age 84, of Hollansburg passed away at 11:35 am Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery.
Roy was born December 2, 1939, in Hollansburg to the late Edgar A. & Carrie A. (Hilling) Flatter. Roy was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Flatter; and sister, Lova Clark.
Roy is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Chris & Amy Flatter of Lynn, Indiana; grandsons, Dane, Vance and Wyatt; sisters, Lois Moody of Lynn, Indiana, and Susan Frame of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roy was a 1958 graduate of West Mont High School in Hollansburg. Roy served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961. He retired from Lynn Tool Company where he was a machinist. Roy was a member of the New Madison American Legion Post #245. Roy was a former volunteer firefighter with the Hollansburg Fire Department and former member of the Greenville Eagles.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, September 16, 2024, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Tracy Brown. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery with full military services conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hollansburg Fire Department.
