AUGUST 6, 1987 – SEPTEMBER 13, 2024
Matthew Madison Bay, a loving son, sibling, father, coworker and uncle passed away after a short illness on September 13, 2024.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Lora Lee & Kevin Bay; his children, Trenton Bay, Aiden Bay and Brailynn Barker; his siblings, Treva & Jared Hindsley, Brandon & Victoria Gray, Kimberly Bay and Kendra Bay; and numerous aunts.
Matthew is preceded in death by his sister, Jessica Gray; cousin, Alexia Freeman; aunts, Annette Graham and Darla Wayman; and both sets of grandparents.
Matthew was born August 6, 1982, to Lora Lee & Kevin Bay. He was a devoted father to his children and loved his dog, Bella. He was a dedicated hard worker at Eager Beaver Directional Drilling. Matthew enjoyed camping, fishing and watching the Bengals play. Matthew always loved making people laugh. He was a great uncle to his 20 nieces and nephews, and they loved him deeply. Matthew did not know a stranger and was considered a friend by most who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, coworkers and all who knew him.
A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, September 29, 2024, at his mother’s house. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.zecharbailey.com for the Bay family.
