Arcanum bounces back after loss

By George Starks |

ARCANUM-After a devastating loss to Ansonia a week ago, the Arcanum Trojans bounced back in a big way Friday with a 37-0 victory over Tri-County North in a key Western Ohio Athletic Conference battle.

It didn’t take Arcanum long to put points on the board.

Arcanum put points on the board going up 8-0 in the opening frame and a 20-0 lead at the break.

While the Trojans were able to put points on the board early, it was the Arcanum defense that made Arcanum coach Matt Macy happy.

“The defense stood tall tonight,” said Macy. “We stopped them on their own goal line. I can’t say enough about the defense tonight.”

Arcanum went up 30-0 early in the fourth and a continuous running clock.

Arcanum did have a bit of a scare when sophomore MJ Macy went down with a leg injury. The injury was minor but Macy never returned to the game

“I’m glad he wasn’t hurt bad. He’ll be ready next week,” said Macy. We’re going to need him the rest of the way,”

The victory allowed the Trojans to hang on to the number 16 spot in the rankings and a possible spot in the post season.

Arcanum will go to National Trail next week.
