Joanntionnette “ Joanie“ Brown (Batten), 72, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 12:16 AM at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio. Joanie was born April 5, 1952 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Thelma Batten.
Joanie is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her Sisters, Carol Gantt and Jeanie Smith. Her Brother, Philip and Step-Son, Mathew Clayton Brown.
She is survived by her adoring Husband, Jerry Brown, whom he married on October 1, 1986, over 38 years ago. She leaves behind a lasting legacy with her Children, Dawn (Armando) Martinez, Michael Nixon, and a Step- Daughter, Melissa (Clayton) Ramsey. She also leaves many Grandchildren behind, Devin Martinez, Jordan (Amanda) Martinez, Cody Brown, Jessica Trimpi, Ryan Klopher, and Stephen Ramsey. Also, a few beautiful Great Grandchildren, , Keaton Ward, Dawson Stephens, Davin Stephens, Desymn Stephens, and Daxon Brown, Colton Bescker, Kaylynn Ramsey, Lillianne Ramsey, Annalise Martinez and her Sisters, Charmagne Brock and Rita Bruns. As well as numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Joanie loved her family and was described by her loving husband as “a wonderful woman and wife.” She was a member of the USAA. Her husband recalls her love for horses and how there was a time where she had seven of them, and he had no clue. Her love of her animals and her compassion for taking care of them was just one of the wonderful things about Joanie. She will be missed deeply by her friends, family and all who had the privilege of meeting her.
The family will be holding a visitation on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 1 PM to 2 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on the same day, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2 PM. The service will be officiated by Rev. Tony Price.
