On Saturday, October 26 , Fort GreeneVille Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution honored the family of SGT Robert E. Floyd, United States Army at the Bear’s Mill Vietnam Memorial.
SGT Robert E. Floyd was drafted in the United States Army. The Bradford native was born on May 15, 1947, and died March 31, 1968, in Gio Linh Plain, South Vietnam, Quang Tri Province. Floyd began his tour on January 1, 1968 as light weapons infantry attached to the 9th Infantry Division, 3rd Squadron, 5th Cavalry, C Troop. He is buried at Harris Creek Cemetery in Bradford, OH.
After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Prayer by Annette Stewart, the families of Robert E. Floyd, the families of Robert E. Floyd were honored: Peg Floyd Sargent, sister of Robert E. Floyd and Scott Floyd, brother of Robert E. Floyd. Robert E. Floyd’s son Robert Gorden passed recently away.
The Fort GreeneVille Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), as an official and proud partner with the United State of America Vietnam War Commemoration, continue its recognition of Vietnam veterans who didn’t come home. The local chapter is continuing its efforts to recognize the families of local men killed while serving during that war.
