COLUMBUS, OH- Ohio’s 2024 General Election saw a large turnout and a smooth voting process from beginning to end. The Ohio Association of Election Officials (OAEO) thanked its members and Ohio’s voters for making that happen.
“We are grateful that Ohioans turned out enthusiastically, passionately and respectfully this election,” said OAEO President Paul Adams. “Our voters showed once again their confidence in our electoral process and the peaceful transition of political power.”
Ohio has long been held as the gold standard for elections administration, with over 1500 full time elections staff ensuring that every legally cast vote in Ohio is counted. Preparations and planning for this election have been underway for years and bore fruit in a successfully administered election that voters can trust.
“Yesterday’s and today’s news stories rightfully focused on the winners and losers of the election, not on the process itself,” stated OAEO First Vice President Terry Burton. “This is the direct result of state and local election officials working together, in a bipartisan fashion, to conduct fair, accurate and transparent elections,” Burton concluded.
The Ohio Association of Election Officials is a bipartisan organization representing Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections and their staff members. Its mission is to promote fair, accurate and reliable elections through the education of its members, advocating for sound election policies, and communicating accurate information regarding the administration of elections.
