Gene Richard Pequignot, 91, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024 at St. Leonard’s Assisted Living of Centerville, OH.
Gene was born on January 22, 1933 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Leonard and Marie (Schilling) Pequignot. Gene was a 1950 graduate of Greenville High School. After graduation, Gene served his country honorably during the Korean War, as a member of the United States Air Force. Gene was a graduate of Wittenberg University. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Greenville. He and Dee were bird watchers, had a love for gardening and spending time over the years with their dachshunds. Gene was a 33rd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and The Antioch Shrine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Joe Pequignot; his sister, Marilyn Kissinger; and nephews, Michael Kissinger, Glenn Pequignot and Mathew Pequignot.
Gene is survived by wife, Dolores (Mowry) Pequignot whom he married on April 27, 1968; and his nephews and nieces, Steve Pequignot, Don Pequignot, Janel Pequignot, Mitch Kissinger and Virginia Trisel.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 14, 2024 at St. Leonard’s Living Communities’ Chapel, 8100 Clyo Road, Centerville, Ohio 45458 with Pastor Keith Menter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Royal Oaks Cemetery Brookville, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 10 AM – 11 AM at St. Leonard’s. A Masonic Service will begin at 11:00 AM.
