Alice F. Barton

May 20, 1945 — November 17, 2024

Alice Faye Barton, age 79 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living in Greenville.

She was born on May 20, 1945, in Pineville, Kentucky, to the late Hershel and Christine (Collett) Mirick.

In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Barton; son, Tony Robison; brothers, Jim Bain and David Bain.

Those left to cherish Alice’s memory include her daughters, Christena Sharp (Monty) of Greenville and Navada Clack (Ron) of Sevierville, TN; her son, Robert Barton (Maria) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Amanda Loosier (James) of Sevierville, TN, Sarah Stockton (Patrick) of Sevierville, TN, Megan Hoop (Sam Stebbins), Jacob Subler, Alex Subler (Isabelle Ellis), Michael Barton, Abbie Barton, Maxyn Sharp (Leslie Lauth), Hadyn Sharp (Carleigh Cox); her 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; her brothers, John Bain (Darlene) of Indian Lake, OH and Dean Bain (Dianna) of South Carolina; her sister-in-law, Debbie Bain of Greenville; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved dog, Tucker.

Alice was a graduate of Ansonia High School. She spent a majority of her life working in the food service industry. Alice worked as the cook at the Oakley Place and was known as the “donut lady” at Eikenberrys IGA in Greenville. In her free time, Alice enjoyed knitting and needlepointing. She made several slippers for family, friends and other residents at Brookdale. Alice enjoyed being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

A celebration of Alice’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville.

Guests may visit with her family on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to EverHeart Hospice 1350 N. Broadway Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
