HB 7 passes improving the state infrastructure supporting Ohio families

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio General Assembly passed HB 7, The Strong Foundations Act, to be signed by the Governor. This bill, sponsored by Representatives White and Humphrey, will update reporting requirements for the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, Department of Medicaid, Department of Health, and the Department of Children and Youth.

The provisions of HB 7 will improve accountability for state agencies serving vulnerable children and families. This will provide the state with vital information on the needs of young families to grow and thrive in Ohio. Ohio Right to Life applauds the General Assembly for their continued prioritization of children and families.

“This bill is a great step forward in addressing the barriers that prevent women from being able to keep their babies,” said Ohio Right to Life Director of Legislative Affairs, Emma Martinez. “It is our goal at Ohio Right to Life to see Ohio become a place where families are supported and given every opportunity to flourish.”
