Betty Louise (Wolfe) Foreman, 91, of New Madison, Ohio passed away on February 1, 2025 at Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio. She was born October 14, 1933 in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Charles and Mildred (Jacobs) Wolfe.
Betty was a graduate of Richmond High School (1951) and worked at Kresge’s in Richmond before marrying James Foreman on February 15, 1957. She became a homemaker, raising five children and working on the family’s farm outside Hollansburg, Ohio. She loved supporting her children and grandchildren, rarely missing a ballgame or event, and enjoyed spending time with family, eating out with her brothers and sisters, playing golf, reading, and visiting the casino. She watched Jeopardy every night and was known for her great sense of humor and her famous potato soup. After her children left the home, she worked for a local tanning salon, took care of her grandchildren, and spent many years volunteering in the Brethren Retirement Community gift shop with her oldest daughter.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, James Foreman, on April 11, 2020; sister Peggy Bates; brothers Charles Wolfe and Robert Wolfe; sisters and brothers-in-law Helen (Delmer) Unum, Reva (James) Poling, and Margaret (Charles) Hoffman, Margaret Wolfe, Paul Durbin, Charles Foreman, Dorothy (Duane) Hiatt, Donna Wolfe, and Stanley Jenkins.
Betty is survived by her children, Kimberly (Dave) Brewer of Palestine, Tami (Scott) Brewer of Palestine, James “Jimmy” (Tammy) Foreman Jr. of New Madison, Peggy (Willard) Fisherback of New Madison, and Scott Foreman of New Madison; grandchildren Amy (Tom) Farmer, Jason (Amanda) Brewer, Chris (Mattie) Brewer, Holly (Andrew) Holtzman, Ashley (Ned Schweizer) Brewer, Josh (Kayla) Fisherback, Brittani (TJ) Hines, Daniel (Kendra) Foreman, Kassie (Travis) Presler, Heidi (Matt) Sanders, Brett (Jen) Foreman, Alexa (Dillon) Hesson, and Madison Foreman; 34 great-grandchildren, including Grady, Annie, Maggie, and Hazel Brewer, Macy Thompson, Karlee and Elliana Farmer, Reagan, Lyla, and Wilson Brewer, Jaiden Beam, Lillian LaMont, Aldric and Scarlett Holtzman, Emmalin, Adaline, Waylon, Brody, and Tinley Foreman, Maverick, Landry, Laikyn, Madden, and Maelee Fisherback, Trevor, Johnny, and Chuck Jim Presler, Grant Hines, Colton and Carter Sanders, Weston, Wade, Lincoln, and Avery Hesson; sister Janice Durbin; brothers Jerry (Phyllis) Wolfe and Raymond Wolfe; and sisters-in-law Margaret Wolfe, Patty Jenkins, and Barbara Foreman; numerous nieces, nephews, and treasured family members; and special friends, Robert and Brenda Carr.
A private family visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Home, Greenville Campus. A private funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Brethren Retirement Community’s Resident Aid Fund or Tri-Village Rescue Services.
