On March 4, a difficult decision was made by the Darke County Commissioners to not renew their contract with Greenville Transit, which ends on March 31, 2025. That decision was based on the determination that the amount of ridership did not justify the costs of providing this service at a county-wide level.
To set the record straight, although there will no longer be transportation provided outside the city limits effective April 1, Greenville Transit remains under separate contract with several other organizations such as Jobs and Family Services and the Agency on Aging which provides transportation within the county for qualified individuals.
Any further questions about their decision may be directed to the Darke County Commissioners.
